Faculty of Law

The Faculty of Law hosts several research centers, including the Centre for Banking and Financial Law, the Centre for European Legal Studies and the Art Law Centre, and offers a wide variety of academic courses covering all areas of law, with a strong focus on international and comparative law. Benefiting from its strategic location in one of the world’s main arbitration venues with a long tradition in dispute settlement, the Faculty of Law has developed a recognized area of expertise in international arbitration and alternative dispute resolution incorporating research projects, conferences and seminars.

 

Programs offered in English include the Certificate in Transnational Law, which brings students from some thirty countries to Geneva each year. Such as the LL.M. in International Dispute Settlement, the LL.M. in International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights and the Executive Master of International Law in Armed Conflict, offered in cooperation with the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies.

LLB Law (Accelerated)

Our Accelerated LLB is a Qualifying Law Degree that covers all the same material as our LLB undergraduate law degree, but in two years rather than three. It is designed for those who are able to dedicate extra time to your studies on a weekly basis. Still packed with great transferrable skills training, you can feel confident that you’ll graduate ready to take on the challenges of any career path you might wish to follow. If you’re eager to qualify as a solicitor or barrister then this course will help you jump-start your legal career. You can complete your Qualifying Law Degree in just two years with our Accelerated LLB, allowing you to move on to postgraduate study sooner. Studying our degree will also mean you are prepared in part for the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE 1) or to progress onto our Bar Practice Course (if you wish to qualify as a barrister).

LLB Civil and English Law

With this course you can study a dual Qualifying Law Degree in switzerland and the UK over four years. If you aspire to become an international law professional who sets themselves apart from traditional law tracks, the Dual LLB will help you develop an outstanding profile when entering the legal job market.

LLB Law Senior Status

The LLB (Hons) Law Senior Status is a specifically designed degree for students who already hold a degree and want to gain a Qualifying Law Degree in just two years. You can study all the necessary modules for a Qualifying Law Degree while enjoying the flexibility of being able to select three LLB course options to suit areas that interest you. Studying our degree will also mean you are prepared in part for the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE 1) or to progress onto our Bar Practice Course (if you wish to qualify as a barrister).

LLB Law with Business

Our LLB (Hons) Law with Business is a three year full-time Qualifying Law Degree. It will give you a wide understanding of key legal topics and related skills, as well as developing business skills and competencies. As a Qualifying Law Degree, this course enables you to progress to the next stage of legal training as a solicitor or barrister. It’s also a great choice if you want to move into a career outside of the legal sector as you’ll study a range of business modules that will make you employment-ready. Studying our degree will also mean you are prepared in part for the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE 1) or to progress onto our Bar Practice Course (if you wish to qualify as a barrister).

LLB Law with Criminal Justice

Our LLB Law with Criminal Justice is an undergraduate Qualifying Law Degree allowing you to begin a career in the legal or wider public and commercial sectors. As well as covering all of the essential criteria of a Qualifying Law degree, this course allows you to take a deeper look at the agencies and institutions that implement and enforce the law. You get to study modules that help define what crime is and means, and determine the processes of everything from investigation and trials to sentencing, prisons and legal penalties, all while factoring in human rights. Studying our degree will also mean you are prepared in part for the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE 1) or to progress onto our Bar Practice Course (if you wish to qualify as a barrister).

LLB Law with International Business

Our LLB (Hons) Law with International Business is a Qualifying Law Degree that combines your legal studies with an exploration of different aspects of international business. This course is ideal for those looking to develop an understanding of modern global business practices that will complement a Qualifying Law Degree. With key business modules that focus on marketing, HR and strategy on an international scale you’ll get plenty of experience and knowledge in how international businesses operate successfully. Studying our degree will also mean you are prepared in part for the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE 1) or to progress onto our Bar Practice Course (if you wish to qualify as a barrister).

LLB Law with Government and Politics

Our Law with Government and Politics Qualifying Law Degree combines your legal studies with an exploration of different aspects of government and political study to develop an understanding of modern British and European political practices and how they affect and govern the implementation and enforcement of law. With so many politicians coming to parliament from a legal background, this course provides an excellent balance of study to allow you to develop a qualified legal education as well as giving an insight into the world of politics. Studying our degree will also mean you are prepared in part for the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE 1) or to progress onto our Bar Practice Course (if you wish to qualify as a barrister).
